The clothing of the 17th century nobility required rich, textured fabrics and intricate lace trim. The cutaway coat featured large lapels which were often notched and high, standing collar. The vest was cut in the same way as the coat, and was an inch or two longer than the coat in the front. The breeches (not pictured here) were snug-fitting and narrow, and the shirt was billowy with lace on the cuffs and cravat. Price range $425.00 and up
This Regency ensemble features a shirt with lace-edged cravat and cuffs, brocade vest, and wool coat trimmed with velvet at the collar and cuffs. $675.00 as shown.
